Kenneth Larsen Joins the Kiosk Industry Group Hall of Fame
When industries mature, they often forget how uncertain their early days were.
Before kiosks became essential infrastructure in betting, travel, retail, and public services, the sector was fragmented, misunderstood, and frequently underestimated. That is the environment Kenneth Larsen stepped into more than twenty years ago.
This year, that journey has been formally recognised with Kenneth’s induction into the Kiosk Industry Group Hall of Fame, an honour reserved for those whose sustained contributions helped define the industry itself.
Seeing the shift before it was obvious
Kenneth’s career has been shaped by moments of transition. Early on, as betting regulations changed across North America, he recognised that self-service would become foundational, not optional.
While others hesitated, KT Group moved. Self-checkout kiosks were introduced into betting venues at scale, not as experiments, but as operational systems designed for speed, compliance, and resilience. That early momentum led to partnerships with operators such as Wynn Casinos and Churchill Downs, and later with global sportsbook brands including DraftKings.
The common thread wasn’t technology alone, but trust. Trust in the product, the process, and the team.
A recognition built on teamwork
While the Hall of Fame induction recognises Kenneth Larsen’s personal contribution to the industry, it is inseparable from the people who have built, challenged, and delivered alongside him.
The company’s strength lies in a highly skilled, deeply experienced team with long-standing chemistry and shared standards. Every member of the KT Group team has been with the business for a minimum of ten years, bringing continuity, institutional knowledge, and a rare depth of technical and operational expertise.
Kenneth’s induction is therefore not just a reflection of his overarching vision or timing, but of trust built over decades. Trust between colleagues, trust with partners, and trust from operators who rely on KT Group’s kiosks for a number of functions.
An industry still evolving
The Hall of Fame exists to document long-term impact across self-service, accessibility, automation, and interactive technology. It recognises individuals who were active before kiosks and automated systems were widely understood, and who helped guide the industry from early terminals to modern, inclusive platforms.
Kenneth’s induction reflects that arc, but it also underlines something else: this is not a closing chapter.
Today, KT Group continues to invest in scalable hardware platforms, automated production lines, and durable kiosk systems designed for real-world use in demanding environments. The focus remains on systems that work reliably for operators and intuitively for customers.
Kenneth will be attending ICE, where he will be sharing perspectives on future-proofing retail estates and building self-service infrastructure that lasts.
